Teachers’ Profiles

Ms. Sokolowski, Kindergarten Teacher

I have my Bachelors degree in Elementary education as well as Early Childhood from Northern Arizona University. I have had the pleasure of living in Colorado, Philippines, California and for the past 10 years Arizona. These experiences have only helped me grow as an educator. During the past summer I have been teaching a multi age group of 5-9 year olds at a montessori school, which has been a great experience. I am a huge animal lover and I also enjoy hands on experiences, art, science and math. I  am excited to have the opportunity to interact with students and their families. I look forward to new and exciting ventures for the 2012-2013 school year!

  Mrs. Crone, Kindergarten Teacher

I am so excited to start my journey at Sage Academy.  With three children of my own, I understand the importance of sending our children to school while feeling comfortable with those that are teaching and caring for them. My passion for teaching began when I taught in the Washington School District in Phoenix in their Head Start program.  It was then that I knew I wanted to teach young children.   I have my Bachelor’s in Education from Ottawa University and am highly qualified to teach K-8 grades.  I also have an AA in Early Childhood Education and am working on getting my reading endorsement. When I graduated from Ottawa I had the opportunity to teach in both, 6th and 7th grades in Reading, Writing, Science and Social Studies.  I have worked in the Washington, Glendale and Avondale School District’s. My diverse background in educating our youth has allowed me to grow as an educator and has helped me refine my focus; to teach young children once again.  I live in Phoenix with my husband, Tim,  and three children.  I have two sons, Jordan 19 and Justin 11, and one daughter, Jaelyn who is 15. I also have three dogs and one cat!  When I have a break, you will usually find me cheering my children on at the baseball or softball fields.  As a parent, I understand and value the importance of communication between home and school. I am eager to begin my career as a Kindergarten teacher and look forward to meeting each of my students and their families.

Ms. Koubek, 2nd Grade Teacher

My name is Cassandra Koubek and I am a devoted educator with a love for teaching! I grew up in upstate New York until around the age of 14 when my immediate family (father, mother, brother and sister) moved away from my large and wonderful family to the sunshine state of Arizona. I was a dedicated and competitive figure skater throughout most of my childhood, as well as participated in other activities and sports such as dance, volleyball, track and choir.
I graduated from Higley High School in Gilbert, Arizona in 2007. After high school, I attended ASU where I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education in the spring of 2011. While working on my degree at ASU, I taught figure skating and worked as a respite and habilitation provider for young children with autism. After graduation, I got my first teaching job at Fountain Hills Charter School where I taught second and third grade in a Montessori classroom. I have just recently moved out to the Phoenix area from Tempe with my boyfriend Jon and our small zoo of animals. We have two dogs, a parrot and a bunny and love every moment spent with them!
My passion for teaching is only growing as my career advances and I am fully committed to the growth and development in my students learning. I believe that making a connection with each and every one of my students and their families is one of the most important factors in my job as an educator. I am so excited to begin my second year of teaching with Sage Academy and am dedicated to making this next year a great one!
